Uncle Buddy’s Phantom Funhouse

A restoration done by the CMDC program at Washington State University Vancouver. Uncle Buddy’s Phantom Funhouse is a digital immersive novel created by John McDaid, a renowned author and musician. Originally released in 1993 this “game” has not been playable on modern desktops for over a decade. Apart of the design team, my role was to hold on to the integrity and uniqueness of this creation while freshening up the aesthetics throughout the work. This consisted of rebranding, recreation of assets with a fresh new style, and photo preservation/manipulation. Dare to enter the funhouse?

Animation/storytelling collection

Watch the battle of the century. A short film of two rival chess piece armies finding out who is worthy to rule the land. Created with MAYA and After Effects, my role for this film was modeler, animator, and compositer. This film was a blast to work on and the scenes within look way more matured than just the month that was spent making the film. While modeling and 3D animation may not be my strong suit, this project took me out of my comfort zone and expanded my knowledge, which I am very grateful for.

The 13th Floor is a hypertext short story made completely out of AI-generated artwork. Being a solo project, I was so intrigued to see the possibilities of AI art and how it can be used to create a story. Using Google Colab’s Disco Diffusion to create each image based on a prompt and fine-tuned settings for consistency, then building the story and its interactiveness with Google Slides. This story has meaning, and carrying this meaning throughout artwork that you only have so much control over was a challenge, but so worth it.

Bee Race is an animated race between three bumble bees. Modeled, animated, and composed using MAYA, I was lucky enough to have a hand in every process of this creation. Allowing me to feel more comfortable with my modeling and animating skills something I have been working to strengthen. This story is fun, interactive, and something I am proud of. Please enjoy the most fun 50 seconds you will ever have.
